William Noel LaCombe Baptism

Reverend Walter Hughley officiates the baptism of William Noel LaCombe

Family and friends of little William Noel LaCombe gathered on Saturday, April 15, 2006 at Shrock United Methodist Church to celebrate his baptism. Rev. Walter Hughley officiated the service at the church that has been a part of the Covington Family for generations.

William Noel is the son of David and Kathryn LaCombe of Lafayette, LA, grandson of Noel and Virginia Covington of Shrock and William LaCombe (deceased) and Elizabeth LaCombe of Branford, Connecticut, and great-grandson of Anna Covington of Shrock. William is named after both of his grandfathers -- William, his paternal grandfather, and Noel, his maternal grandfather.

Guests traveled from Georgia and Louisiana to attend the service and celebration: Cindy, Eric, and Christopher West of Atlanta, GA; Noel Covington of Lafayette, LA, Jay Pierret and Amanda Cashi of Lafayette, LA. Family and friends from Mississippi in attendance included Anna Covington, Christine Covington, Noel and Virginia Covington, Kitty Jones, Jewel Cauthen, Janice Hughley, and Rev. Bobby and Shirley Cain.

Following the baptism, a reception was held at the home of William Noel's grandparents, Noel and Virigina Covington. The dining areas were decorated with flower arrangements of yellow and white tulips, yellow gladiolas, and blue sweet peas. Each guest was given a baby powder scented candle to remember the event.
