Introducing...

Buffington
2007 Snowman

Today, we were finally able to play, really play, in the snow. Previously, the snow was very powdery, thus it would not stick together... a definate necessity for snowman construction.

The top layer of the snow was slick... perfect for sledding...with Daddy!

Pookah parked his sled and helped build Buffington. (Notice the snowman pattern in the top of the photo... a squirrel drew it for us... seriously!)

Valentine's Day Blizzard

The winter storm that spread snow and wintry mix through the Northeast on Valentine's Day was not enough to cool the warm hearts of David, Kathryn, and Prince William.

Officially designated a "Nor'easter," the storm dumped almost a foot of the white stuff in our yard (and that's before the snowplow piled a mound in our driveway...trapping our cars). We watched with excitement as the snow flew sideways, swirled in circles, mixed with sleet, and ended with huge flakes accumulating inch after inch for almost twenty-four hours.

Party-pic in the backyard.
Note the high-speed digital Wintercam image that captures
snowflakes in flight as they actually fall to the ground (amazing, huh).

William demonstrates his Daddy-Sledding skills in the frozen backyard tundra.
Hmmm...I can't seem to get this one to pull the sled.
I better hook the big guy back up to my sled.

Ahhh...the life of a winter adventurist!

Keep shoveling ol' man.

Mommy and me celebrating after I finished shoveling the driveway.
So much for child labor laws!

Let it snow...let it snow...let it snow!

First Play Date

Going on my first play date, how do I look?

William attended his first play date this afternoon at Aidan and Leanna's home. Jack and Timothy also attended. William was the youngest, but no one would have ever known. He loved all the new toys and anything that he could push around!

Firefighter William

My new fire truck... what do you think?

I am one strong firefighter!

Firefighter William grins for the camera after a busy day of playing in his new fire truck tent.
Thanks Uncle Noel and Aunt Terri -- we went shopping with the gift card!

Super Sunday!

Hey... wanna play?

Mr. Demolition arrives on the scene!

C'mon COLTS!!

Superbowl Sunday was indeed that... SUPER! It is bitterly cold and windy outside, so we had a fire in the fireplace most of the day.

  • William and Daddy played with the new Mega Blocks!
  • Mommy made chicken and sausage gumbo... YUM!
  • The Pookahs went for a drive in the mountains (only 10 minutes from our house). The river is frozen, the snow is still on the ground, and huge icicles hang from the mountains. It is just gorgeous!
  • We watched the Colts defeat the Bears! Go Peyton!

Reluctant Participant

Dear Family and Friends,
I am not feeling like myself today! A bit grumpy....
Well, if you must know, Mommy and Daddy decided that I needed another haircut. Mommy found this salon just for children... I reluctantly agreed.
Ok, I was really impressed with the red hot rod that I saw when I first arrived; it was just my size. I checked out the undercarriage and the tires... seemed fine. Then, all of a sudden I was not surveying the car, I was in it! Well, hmmm, I played for a bit with the steering wheel. Then, a cape was draped around my shoulders. I was somewhat fine with that.

Then, the lady started spraying me with cold water... the very thought makes me shudder to recall. As you can see, I was not pleased. I will admit this only to you... I cried a little... just a little. I was still a big boy!

Sometimes, however, a big boy needs some help from a trusted friend to get through uncertain times... thank goodness Mommy brought my noonie!

After the car event, I played with the train set while Mommy got her bangs trimmed (thank goodness... I didn't want to say anything but she was looking a bit unkept... don't tell her I told you!)

Love,
William Noel
