A Few of My Favorite Things
On this crisp, cool Saturday morning, we met our friends at the Children's Museum for a day of playing with a few of William's favorite things!
My first stop was the train... I love trains!
This little conductor looks like he is figuring out how to get this baby rolling!
The fire truck exhibit... William's absolute favorite thing!!
Move over Bob the Builder... here comes Will!
"William's working," he told his Mommy!
Back to his absolute favorite thing!!
William loved the authentic fire truck sounds and the light!
Cupcakes... also a favorite thing of William's... He loved playing in the bakery!!
After getting drenched at the water table, William watched the Lionel train and played with the sounds. There was also a train table, but William only gave it a passing glance.
"Ahem... is this thing on? Now for my famous rendition of 'Twinkle Twinkle'." Needless to say, the crowd loved it!!
Writing with markers... signing the Declaration of Independence.
William was dancing in the dj booth! Doesn't he look like a natural? It's in his blood!
Then, he played with a robot! He was trying to pick up fish!! He is just discovering robots, so this was super cool for him!
William absolutely loved dyeing Easter Eggs! When he woke up from his nap, we gathered all the necessary items and set up shop in our sunroom. He was amazed that the eggs changed colors!
We dyed 18 eggs... definitely not enough... William wanted to dye "more" (as he said repeatedly) when all these were colored. After they dried, he amused himself by moving them from container to container. However, Mommy was quickly corrected when she suggested that the eggs go in a basket. Isn't it amazing that William already thinks Mommy is clueless, and he is only 2 1/2 years old???
Of course, quite a few were broken in the moving process... that's just part of the fun!!
Although the calendar indicates that it is Spring, we are still waiting for the weather to warm up! C'mon Spring!!
Anyway, the LaCombes have been enjoying all the preparations for the Easter Bunny's arrival!
Event #1: Bear Mountain Easter Egg Hunt
The boys rode the carousel while we waited for the egg hunt to begin.
As we waited in line for the egg hunt, William was more than thrilled with seeing a helicopter fly by!!
We're in... William opened the first egg we found... and started eating the jelly beans right away!
The grounds were decorated with various Disney creatures... really cute.
Post-egg hunt party pic with Bambi... Will is still eating jelly beans!
Still eating jelly beans... and we only found 5 eggs... must have been loaded with jelly beans!
We sat on a bench to take in the beautiful surroundings. When Daddy announced, "party pic," William posed. We laughed and laughed! Class clown, we predict.
Event #2: Egg Dyeing
William was fascinated by the egg dye and couldn't wait to do his part!
Mommy tried to help but Mr. Independent wanted to do it all himself!
Satisfaction in a job well done!
Event #3: Easter Playdate
William and Brielle got together Easter week and made Bunny faces!
Aren't these cute? William's creation hung on our front door!!
Event #4: LaCombe Easter Egg Hunt
We invited Brielle and her family over for an Easter Egg hunt on Easter Saturday. William is "helping" Mommy make the table decorations... he helped make the quiches, broccoli salad, carrot salad, fruit saladand cupcakes, too!
Brielle brought William a basket of goodies... he had a blast finding all his treats!
After a quick bite to eat, it was time for the egg hunt. Do egg hunts usually have intermissions? Ours did. The kids hunted for a couple of mintues, left together to play on our playground, and then returned to finish the hunt. Go figure.
Brielle with her Mommy, Daddy, and her au pair, Lulu... and the LaCombes.
Playing chase with the crepe paper... lots of laughs!!
Beautiful Brielle!
Event #5: Easter Bunny!!
Looks like the Easter Bunny left quite a surprise for William!!
Someone is seriously studying the contents! William's first reaction..."open!"
We went to the mall to get our growing boy some new pajamas. We thought it was going to be a quick trip... run in, get the pajamas, and leave. Nope.
William saw the Easter Bunny (EB) and started running; Mommy was in pursuit. As we approached the photo set, William smiled and waved, "Hi Easter Bunny! Hi Easter Bunny!" During these exclamations, he proceeded to take off his winter coat and continued to stare at the bunny and smile.
Mommy positioned William on the bench next to EB for a photo. William smiled and flirted. After the photographer took a couple of shots, William seemed disappointed. He told the photographer, "again." He wanted to take more photos. So, after about 10 shots, the EB gave William a coloring book and some crayons. Still, he sat with EB. They touched each other's noses and gave high fives.
Mommy offered candy, cookies, ice cream... William would not leave the Easter Bunny's side. Finally, the Easter Bunny walked William over to Mommy. He still did not want to leave. Mommy picked up her boy and attempted to walk away. Nope. William now wanted to "hug" and "kiss" the Easter Bunny. So he did!!!
Once we got home and it was nap time, William cried, "Easter Bunny carry you"... code for "Easter Bunny please pick me up and hold me!"
