David and Friends at EMS Today

A week in Baltimore united friends as we joined to coordinate the JEMS Games - an international paramedic competition to determine the best of the best.

Thirteen teams from the nation and as far as Canada and London gave their all as they negotiated an obstacle course and highly realistic emergency simulation involving a crashed medical helicopter. Congratulations to the FDNY EMS for taking first place!

The Games received a special guest, Randolph Mantooth, star of the famed 70's show, "Emergency." Mantooth addressed the packed stadium - telling stories of the TV series and his real admiration for EMS providers.

From L to R: Chad Brocato, Randolph Mantooth, and David

The real highlight for me was being with friends. Pictured below are Chad, Shawn, A.J., Geoff, and Grant. These goofs gave me a birthday cake and sang the most horribly off-key happy-birthday song ever - it was great. Thanks Guys!

Town of Baby Announces New Fire Chief

Baby Town is proud to announce the establishment of its very own Fire Department. Baby FD conducted a world-wide search for its first fire chief. The number one candidate, a BabyTown native, is our beloved William Noel LaCombe.
LaCombe comes from a long line for fire-fighters. His dad, David, has nearly twenty years of fire service and emergency services experience. Mother, Kathryn, puts out fires daily at her place of employment (ah-hem, so anyways).
In a LCN exclusive interview, Chief William is quoted as saying, "this is really a huge honor...I'm hoping that I can live up to everyone's expectations. Do you think they'll make me stay awake for eight-hours at a time? Shhhew...I like to nap frequently. This fire-fighting business sure is rough, I tell ya."

Avery Island Road Trip

Our latest adventure takes us to Avery Island, the home of world-famous TABASCO Sauce.

Avery Island lies about 140 miles west of New Orleans. It's one of five salt dome islands rising above the flat Louisiana Gulf coast. Geologists believe these mysterious elevations were created when a saltwater ocean covering what is now Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi evaporated—leaving behind a vast sheet of salt.

Today, these five coastal islands sit above and are surrounded by the swamps and marshes of south Louisiana. Avery Island stands the highest at 163 feet above mean sea level.

Under the Avery/McIlhenny family's careful management, Avery Island has remained a natural paradise, inhabited by exotic plant and animal species from throughout the world. The wildlife population expands each spring when thousands of snowy white egrets and other migratory water birds return to Bird City. This vast, protected rookery owes its existence to Edward Avery McIlhenny, second son of Edmund McIlhenny who invented TABASCO® Sauce.

On the lamb in South LA

Shhhh...hey...it's me, William Noel. Come closer.

I bet you couldn't recognize me in my disguise. As a baby celebrity, I'm constantly hounded by the Paparazzi and autograph-seeking fans. What's a kid to do with all this fame?

Sometimes I just need to be anonymous...if you know what I mean.

So, I asked my mommy and daddy to join my in disguise - their makeover is so radical that I can't even show you their picture.

I can tell you this though...once we slipped away from my fans, we zipped over to the local park to spend some quality time feeding the ducks.

To tell you the truth...I got a little sleepy at the park. The fresh air and activity got the best of me so I had to take a little snooze.

Thankfully, nobody recognized us and we had an enjoyable time.

Wait a minute.....are those ducks looking at me?

I got to run...talk to your later.

"Unit-3 Responding..."

Dear Daddy,

I know you used to work on ambulances. Do you know how much I enjoyed visiting your office and playing with the toy truck?

I hope when I'm old enough I have a big office with toys to play with too.

I love you Daddy!!

Will's first love letter

With only limited assistance from Daddy,
Will created his first written words.
Note the careful choice of words and excellent penmanship.
Ah....it's so nice to see an artist at work.
